Wine information:
Tradition and talent blend with passion, precision and patience at Nederburg, where classically structured wines are made with vibrant fruit flavours. Nederburg’s hallmark combination of fruit and finesse continues to be rewarded around the world. Ingenuity is Nederburg’s platform for innovation and houses exciting new blends made from lesser-known varietals or those combined in interesting new ways. Nederburg’s core super-premium wines are accommodated in The Winemaster’s Reserve ensemble, named to honour the long-established tradition of winemaking excellence. Grapes for the Nederburg Baronne are sourced from vineyards in the Paarl and Stellenbosch area. After hand-harvesting, fermentation and completion of malolactic fermentation the wine was matured in wood for a period of 8 to 12 months. Baronne had a good, ruby red colour. On the nose there are aromas of blackcurrant, cherries and prunes with spicy nuances. The palate is full and velvety with blackcurrant and prune flavours and a good tannin structure. Excellent served with heart-warming roast lamb, coq au vin, red meat steak, venison, mature cheese, pizza and pasta dishes
