Terrazas Afincado Cabernet Sauvignon

Wine information: Following decades of successful sparkling wine production, in 1999 Moët Hennessy Wine Estates and Bodegas Chandon Argentina inaugurated the Terrazas de los Andes winery, a still wines initiative based on the pairing of fine wine varietals to unique altitudes within Mendoza´s emblematic, snow-fed, high elevation vineyards. Terrazas de los Andes has used its 45 years of experience in high elevation vineyards to carefully match each varietal to its ideal altitude. The Afincado single vineyard "Los Aromos" is located at 980 metres. Only free run juice is used to make this wine which is aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 18 months. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasting Notes: Terrazas Afincado Cabernet Sauvignon is deep, black-garnet, with dark plum highlights. The nose is deep, rich and concentrated featuring black Cabernet fruit and ripened blackberries, with complementary traces of cloves, walnut, and peppery spices. The palate shows a warm torrent of densely layered red berries, cherries and spices, and builds up to a sensuous mouthfeel and substantial structure supported by sinewy tannins and a superfine acidity. The back palate showcases tightly-knit tar and mineral notes, followed by delicate tobacco leaf and slate affirmation of the Los Aromos Vineyard terroir.
