Wine information:
In 1973, Maison Bollinger, a family enterprise at Aÿ-Champagne, recognized the quality of Langlois-Chateau wines and acquired majority ownership. Langlois-Chateau subsequntly experienced rapid growth, adding to the capacity of its cellars, creating vineyards at Saumur, Saumur-Champigny, and Sancerre (currently 73 hectares), and increasing its commercial investments. The Crémant de Loire Appellation is among the most demanding sparkling wine appellations in France (far more stringent than, for example Saumur or Vouvray Brut, for the former of which the Langlois wines would naturally qualify). Under the Auspices of Bollinger, Langlois has further augmented the regulations to equal, and even exceed, those of Champagne. The majority of vineyards are composed of chalky soils, which favour elegant wines. Hand picking in small baskets ensures only the best grapes are selected. The Langlois Crémant de Loire Rosé is aged for a minimum of 18 months at the Chateau’s cellars prior to release. This wine has a delicate partridge-eye colour due to ageing on lees. This 100% Cabernet Franc is a perennial favourite and often sells faster than Langlois can produce it, although they never compromise on quality to release early. The flavours are of pure raspberry and blackcurrant with a freshness that leaves a good many more illustrious sparkling Rosés standing. With its freshness, its fruity aromas and its fine bubbles, this Crémant de Loire Rosé Brut is an excellent aperitif but is also an great accompaniment to many desserts.
