Wine information:
Mouton Cadet Blanc is made from rigorously selected grapes grown by our partner winegrowers in the Entre-Deux-Mers, the best area for white grape varieties in the bordeaux region. Baron Philippe de Rothschild's winemakers monitor the selected parcels throughout the vegetation cycle, advising the growers on vineyard practices in order to meet the exacting quality standards of Mouton Cadet. The Entre-Deux-Mers, situated between the Dordogne and the Garonne, is made up of very high-quality, predominantly clay / limestone soil, ideal for all white grape varieties. Limestone gives the wine a mineral freshness, while clay soil brings out the fruit and the typical sauvignon flavours of boxwood and blackcurrant bud. Mouton Cadet Blanc is matured on fine lees
in vats for four months. the wine is stirred up at regular intervals to circulate the lees, making the wine rounder and fuller. It is a blend of three classic varieties - Sauvignon Blanc (60%) brings fresh, fruity and floral aromas and flavours, Semillon (30%) gives roundness and refinement and Muscadelle (10%) a distinctive aromatic character. It is a brilliant pale yellow. The nose bursts out of the glass, rich and complex and very fresh, with aromas of white fruit (peach) and citrus (pink grapefruit). The palate is smooth, expressive and harmonious mid-palate emerges from a fresh and very round attack, leading into an elegant, slightly acidulated finish. the wine displays attractive length in the mouth, with a recurrence of citrus fruit flavours. Try with grilled fish, shellfish or poultry terrine with spring vegetables.
