Notes - Predominantly Touriga Nacional, low yielding with great complexity and finesse, and Touriga Francesa, more tannic, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Cão, all of which are traditionally used in the production of Port. Each variety has been chosen from Symington owned vineyards where it grows best. A deep claret-like wine, perfumed and elegant on the nose, concentrated and full bodied on the palate, with ripe tannins and hints of chocolate, violets and gum cistus, and an elegant and long finish. The unique partnership of the Symington family’s unparalleled experience of port production in the Douro and Bruno Prats’ (previously wine maker at Cos D’Estournel) vast wine-making experience of top-growth Bordeaux wines has resulted in a wine which will most certainly become a cult classic of the future. This is an excellent and sophisticated wine, made very much in the Bordeaux style. An excellent accompaniment to lamb and beef dishes. It provides attractive drinking now but will develop gracefully for at least another 10 years.
