Notes - An excellent red wine from the Languedoc named after the "Capitelles"or small rounded stone shelters built in the vineyards to provide shelter for the vineyard workers from the from rainstorms and the intense Mediterranean sun. This wine is a blend of Grenache Noir and Carignan with a touch of Syrah and Mourvedre. It is a purplish colour and has aromas of black berry fruits, prunes, nuts and jam on the nose. The palate is soft, juicy and has the same jammy characteristics as the nose, and leads to a soft, fruity finish with a hint of sweetness. Real "New Wave" Fitou, nothing like the three or four pound bottles of muck of yesteryear! Try with grilled meats, barbeques, game or mature cheeses.
