Wine information:
Mandarine Napoléon was specially created for
Emperor Napoléon Bonaparte by his physician. Mandarine Napoléon is produced using aged cognacs and exotic Mandarine oranges. Mandarines, (often known as tangerines) were introduced into Europe from China in the 18th century and grew particularly well in Corsica, Bonaparte’s birthplace. Mandarine Napoléon was commercially distilled in 1892, using finest aged French
cognacs and Mandarine peels from the Mediterranean area. They were blended together with an infusion of herbs and spices. The distillate is then aged for several years, acquiring a rich mellow flavour. Today, it is one of the great classic liqueurs of the world.
Tasting Notes:
Mandarine Napoléon is distinctly different from other orange liqueurs on the back bar. With its luscious, zesty tangerine flavour and herby nuances, it is a great ingredient for cocktail mixing.
