Notes - Giant Steps is owned and operated by a small team - Phil, Allison and Harry Sexton. Phil had originally established Devil's Lair vineyard in Margaret River in the 1980s. In 1997 Phil and his wife, Alison, took the "Giant Step" of selling up and moving to the Yarra Valley where they dreamed of creating a small, specialised cool climate vineyard together, as a family - thus Giant Steps Winery was created (named after the 1959 John Coltrane album of the same name on Atlantic records). This is a superb single vineyard Pinot from Giant Steps' Tarraford Vineyard. "Lovely cherry and red berry fruit nose. Nice savoury presence with some spice. The palate has a herby twist to the fruit: ripe, full, but nicely balanced. Very good/excellent 90/100" - Jamie Goode, Wine Anorak
