Mackmyra Special 03 Small Cask Swedish Single Malt Whisky 48.2%

Wine information: From Sweden's first whiskey distillery, Mackmyra is the new generation of Swedish malt whisky, produced using Swedish ingredients at the Mackmyra Bruk mill, which has a tradition of craftsmanship dating back to the 17th century. Mackmyra use newly manufactured Swedish oak casks, made using oak that was planted on the island of Visingsö 160 years ago and intended for use in building warships for the Swedish navy. This limited edition whisky celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the Mackmyra distillery which was in 2009. It is aged in a combination of Swedish oak and Kentucky Bourbon oak casks and the Whisky is aged in the Bodås mine, 50 metres down inside the primary rock. Matured in mixed wood 30 litres casks, this whisky has turned out more intense in ageing and flavour. Small Casks, Big Flavour is a spicy, full-bodied, fruity whisky with hints of both dried and fresh fruit, soft caramel and a slightly smoky tarry wood. A Swedish malt whisky that challenges traditions.
