Notes - The Ragnaud-Sabourin family are growers and also own 50 hectares of vineyards in the Grande Champagne region. The Grande Champagne region is considered to be the best Cognac-producing area of the region. The estate was established in 1850 and the company is currently managed by third and forth generations of the founding family and the continuity of style has been guaranteed by employing the same family as cellarmasters during this period. This is made from Eaux-de-vie handed down from generation to generation. A subtle blend of 90% Eaux-de-vie from the beginning of the last century and of 10% Eaux-de-vie from before the phylloxera crisis (before 1870). Grape varieties - Ugni Blanc, Colombard, Folle Blanche, Jurançon, Blanc Ramé, Bouilleaux, Balzac blanc and Chalosse - most of these grape varieties are not permitted in Cognac today. The increasingly complex Charente rancio derives added richness from the fruity aromas of the Eaux-de-vie.
