Tasting Notes: Chateau Garraud 2005 is a dark, deep ruby colour. There are ripe black fruit (cassis) aromas on the nose and toasty oak and vanilla. The palate is clean, full and has good, dense tannins with a warm, lengthy and mellow finish. Ageing potential: 2010-2016.
Reviews:
"Big colour, smoky cassis fruit. Good fleshy wine, firm backbone, good length. 2009-16. 16/20", James Lawther, Decanter June 2006.
"Good amount of berry fruit on the nose. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a fresh finish", 85-88 points, James Suckling, Wine Spectator April 2006.
