1 bottle Cognac Maxime Trijol VSOP Grande Champagne, 1er Cru de Cognac 40%
The Chateau Clerc Milon 2002 is drinking really well now and will do for another few years if you fancy stashing it away.
Dirk Niepoort 's single quinta vintage port is starting to develop really nicely. Wine Magazine in a recent tasting of 2000 vintage ports, wrote of this wine "Ripe, rich, fruity, balanced. There is chocolate on the palate and superb fruit, a nice grip and good acidity".
What better way to cap this all off than with a trophy-winning Grande Champage Cognac. The 2003 International Spirits Challenge awarded the Maxime Trijol VSOP Grande Champagne cognac its Brandy Trophy—ahead of all the XO’s ! A virile, yet subtle cognac. Mellow and rich on the palate, but also fruity. Its length is all but perfect, leaving an amazing lingering finish on the palate.
Please find more information / tasting notes for each of the individual wines on their own pages.
