Notes - Located in the northernmost part of the Rhône valley, 50 km south of Lyon, the vineyards of Alain Paret are southeast facing and planted on steep, uneven slopes. The soil is fairly homogeneous and is made up of schists and granite. It is shallow, light, permeable and warm. In the Pays d'Oc, north of the town of Sète, Alain Paret selected the Languedoc hillsides, similar in terms of ground and climate to his own estate, to grow his chosen grape varieties. The Valvigneyre is 100% syrah using fruit sourced from several slopes, and benefits from the very mild climate specific to the Côtes du Rhône. The production undergoes a rigorous selection process that allows Paret to obtain a brilliant wine with a rich bouquet and myriad aromas. With its rich and beautiful colour, it can be drunk young or left to age for several years. The red wine has notes of red fruit, raspberries and redcurrant, spices and blackcurrant.
