Wine information:
Stag's Leap Wine Cellars is a private Napa Valley estate that has been owned by the Winiarski family since it was established 1972, located at the end of the Silverado Trail, in what is now known as the Stags Leap District. The name KARIA (kar’-ee-ah) is derived from a Greek word meaning graceful and it is a graceful wine that SLWC are trying to acheive. The Chardonnay for this wine is from SLWC's Arcadia Vineyard. The wine is refreshing, light and graceful on the palate, with bright acidity supporting ripe fruit flavors and the tiniest amount of oak. The wine has a very pale yellow / straw colour and is practically unoaked. The nose has aromas of apple, peach, citrus, slight fennel and floral notes, including honeysuckle and rose. The palate is fresh with a hint of brioche and the aromas on the nose leading on to the palate. The finish is clean, lean and has good minerality. The Karia has a delicate richness which will match well with all sorts of dishes.
