Notes - Quinta de Roriz is one of the oldest and finest estates in the Douro and has been owned by the van Zeller family since 1815. Historical records show that Roriz was the very first Quinta Port to be exported and the first Quinta to establish an international reputation for the quality of its wines. Quinta de Roriz was named as an “International Winery of the Year” by Wine & Spirits Magazine in its Winter 2004 issue. The wine is typically dark, opaque in colour. Floral nose with berry fruit tones balanced by sweet vanilla aromas of new French oak. The mouth shows fresh fruit flavours with palate filling grip and a long lasting finish. "Concentrated and intense. Shows plenty of French roast flavors, with dark cherry, flanked plum, mineral and smoke. Silky tannins fill the caressing finish. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. Drink now through 2010. 1,600 cases made." 89/100 Kim Marcus, Wine Spectator, June 2007.
