Notes - Trapiche buy grapes from many different growers. Each year they choose three different single vineyard Malbecs, from three different growers to represent the best Malbec that Trapiche can offer in a particular vintage. It is a great accolade for the growers to be chosen for this honour. Daniel Pi - Trapiche's Head Winemaker - and his winemaking team have lead the unification of vineyard management and winemaking at Trapiche, and are now recognised as the Malbec specialists of Argentina. Each vineyard is located in different areas in Mendoza and at different altitudes, this variation in terroir leads to three markedly different wines. Located in Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza at an altitude of 1050 metres Francisco Olivé's vines are 66 years old. This, too, is aged 18 months in French oak. Tasting notes - A very intense Malbec with purple hues, and concentrated fruit notes like blackberry and red currant and perfectly blended oak. It is a wine with an exquisite mouth, very sweet tannins and a long silky finish. This noble wine expresses the maturity of the vineyards in each of its characteristics honouring Francisco and his wife, his lifetime partner.
