Wine information:
The Glenfarclas Distillery, established in 1836, is the true home of one Scottish family, the Grants, who since 1865 have been united by a single vision – the creation of the perfect malt whisky, the ultimate taste of Scotland. Glenfarclas was named Distiller of the Year 2006 at the whisky industry’s Icons of Whisky dinner. Many connoisseurs consider the 15 year old blend from any distillery to be the benchmark for all their whiskies. Glenfarclas 15 year old is a rich golden amber. The nose is complex, sherried, deliciously peated, light butterscotch aromas, with a hint of dried fruit. The palate is full bodied with super balance of sherried sweetness, malty tones and peaty flavours and the finish is long lasting, gloriously sherried, sweet, gently smoky, and distinguished. This has a greater complexity than Glenfarclas' our younger whiskies and is great whisky drinker’s whisky. In his 2007 Whisky Bible, Jim Murray gave Glenfarclas 15 Years Old a score of 95/100, one of the highest scores he has awarded.
