Wine information: Wombat Hill takes its name from one of Australia’s most endearing native animals. The Wombat is strong and sturdy and built close to the ground. Its propensity to move objects that get in its way has led to it being nicknamed the Bulldozer of the Bush.

Tasting Notes: Wombat Hill Merlot Classic Reserve made by winemaker James Ceccato, shows rich fruit characters and the softness that typifies this variety. Intense berry-like aromatics and ripe fruit flavours have produced a medium bodied wine with a soft finish.

Food & Wine match: Enjoy with a wide range of meat dishes, perhaps barbequed sausages or lamb. Drink now but will cellar for 3 to 4 years.
