Notes - Far Horizons, a former dairy farm on the slopes of the Paardeberg mountain between Paarl and Wellington is the home of Horse Mountain wines. The 217ha property was acquired in 1997 after its potential as a suitable terroir for quality red wine production had been identified. In 1701 it was noted that approximately 300 wilde paarden (wild zebra), were sighted near Paarl where they freely roamed the countryside known today as Paardeberg (Horse Mountain), hence the name. The Rosé has a soft, smooth berry ripeness produced from the marriage of Merlot and Pinotage. Juicy middle palate with no excessive sharpness or tannins and a crisp, dry finish. Try with meat dishes such as beef stroganoff, steaks, ostrich or simply at a barbeque.
