Notes - La Grande Josiane is the result of a subtle blend of the strength and fullness of Armagnac and with the sweetness and flavour of natural orange extracts. In Gascony it is used to make a "Pousse Rapière" cocktail. It is made in the same way as a Kir Royale substituting the Armagnac Liqueur for the Cassis. In Gascony the local sparkling wine Vin Sauvage is used, but you can just as easily use Champagne or another sparkling white wine. It is also drunk as an aperitif over ice or as a digestif at the end of the meal. "Lovely aromas of sweet marmalade and earthy Armagnac make a great contrast. On the palate this is delicious : Sweet orange rind and caramel with warm Armagnac flavors coming through on the finish…" 91 points (exceptional), The Beverage Tasting Institute of Chicago.
