Wine information:
In Kazakhstan, vodka is traditionally drunk neat, and with food. This means that it is judged on the quality of the spirit. As the largest supplier of vodka in Kazakhstan, Kazakh Vodka’s aim is to create the finest non-flavoured vodka in the world. No lemon or vanilla flavouring is added, allowing the true flavour of the spirit to shine. Snow Queen vodka is produced using a carefully selected strain of organic wheat from the Steppe, spring water from the melted ice-caps of the Himalayas and charcoal from Kazakh birch trees. The water is refined to remove all traces of calcium and magnesium salts; it is then subjected to a form of reverse osmosis and sand-filtering until only the true, natural taste of the water is left. Where most spirits are distilled twice or three times, Snow Queen is distilled five times. Each distillation increases the strength and purity of the alcohol. Snow Queen offers a unique style of vodka that is velvety smooth, with a gentle sweetness and complete purity of spirit character. Gaining 83 points out of a possible 100, Snow Queen was awarded pole position at a vodka tasting organised by Imbibe Magazine (March/April 2007). It was ‘unanimously praised for a full, well-controlled palate offering a good balance of texture and softness, and a gentle sweetness.’
