Distillerie Tosolini is most famous for their grappas but produce a range of other products. Amaro (which means "bitter" in Italian is a type of Italian herbal liqueur usually consumed after a meal as a digestif. Tosolini Amaro was created in 1918 and has a unique flavour and character due to the use of the extracts of 15 different herbs and spices which are macerated in grape brandy. The grape brandy is aged for 4 months in ash barrels and then everything is combined with pure water from the Fruilian Alps and aged 12 months in the distillery before it is release to market. Tosolini Amaro has many spicy, citrus and fresh aromas and flavours and is bottled at 30%. Amaro can be drunk neat, with a citrus wedge, on ice, or with tonic water.
