Notes - The Ragnaud-Sabourin family are growers and also own 50 hectares of vineyards in the Grande Champagne region. The Grande Champagne region is considered to be the best Cognac-producing area of the region. The estate was established in 1850 and the company is currently managed by third and forth generations of the founding family and the continuity of style has been guaranteed by employing the same family as cellarmasters during this period. In this case Alliance No.35 signifies a blend of cognacs at least 35 years old. This Cognac is a blend of 60% Ugni Blanc and 40% Folle Blanche and Colombard - the balanced blend of the 3 Cognac grape varieties lends Fontvieille exceptional charm. Fontvieille is named after the oldest plots of the Ragnaud-Sabourin estate. It is mahogany in colour with a delicate elegant nose with subtle notes of liquorice, oak spice and balsam. The palate is smooth and marked by typical Charente rancio notes. There are also hints of dried fruits, orange rind and blossom combined with rich oily notes. Excellent balance with a long, well-developed and complex finish. The Alliance No. 35 is a reference to the Cognac's age in years, the Fontvieille is never blended.
