Notes - This has a brighter fruit style and is earlier-drinking than Mitchelton Print Shiraz, yet as it is sourced from some of the same blocks it still displays good concentration. This noble red variety originated in the Rhône Valley where it is known as Syrah. In Australia, Shiraz has become the most planted red grape, renowned for its rich, spicy, mulberry-like flavours. The wine is aged for 16 to 18 months in French oak, 35% in new barrels, from 4 different French cooperages. Description - A deep garnet colour with crimson hues, this wine has intense aromas of blood plums, dark cherries and complex spicy notes with a hint of milk chocolate. An opulent palate with mouth filling flavours of ripe mulberry, dark chocolate and vanilla bean flavours. Velvety tannins produce a textured persistent finish.
