Notes - The Miranda Family Winemakers Australian origin dates back to 1938, when founder Francesco Miranda arrived from Naples with a passion and desire to build a winemaking empire. His three sons Sam, Jim and Lou, carried on the tradition and broadened the company's interests across three states with wineries in the premium wine-producing regions of the Barossa Valley - South Australia, King Valley - Victoria and Riverina - New South Wales. Now, the third generation, Sam, Sandra, Lisa and Catherine continue the family tradition. The muscat fruit is left to shrivel like raisins on the vine without botrytis influence, until the sugar level is up to about 20° Baume (20° Baume = 20° Alcohol if all the sugar in the grapes is fermented). The juice is fermented in stainless-steel, and the finished wine is kept in tank to maintain its pure, fresh varietal aromatics. The wine is bottled within six months of vintage to result in a vibrant, fruity style of sweet wine. Raisined muscat is a light style of dessert wine. It is golden yellow in colour and has a lovely fragrance of dried fruit, citrus peel and Christmas spices. The wine is light-bodied with a pure, grapey taste that is cut by fresh citrus acidity which leaves a refreshing, finish.
