Tasting Notes: Escudo Rojo - The first impression on the nose reflects the presence of the Carmenère grapes : the aromas then move through ripe fruit, cassis, raspberries and dried apricot all underpinned by spice and tobacco. The oak is already completely integrated in the taste. On the palate the wine is full of sweetness and silky tannins, round and fleshy. Delightful flavours of coffee, blackcurrants and a hint of vanilla are present giving the wine a long and pleasant finish. It is recommended that this wine is opened an hour before serving.
Food & drink match: Try with Duck Breast, Braised Lamb Shoulder and Cheeses.
