Hawker's Sloe Gin

Wine information: Hawker’s Sloe Gin is the authority in the sloe gin category. William Hawker created the original recipe in the late 1790’s  and the family business, James Hawker & Co were the first company to commercially produce and market a Sloe Gin. The Sloe is the fruit of the Blackthorn and has a bitter taste until it is sweetened. Sloe gin is traditionally associated with winter sports, especially game shooting, and is increasingly used by bartenders in cocktails and mixed drinks. Today Hawker’s Sloe is once again batch made and matured in the City of Plymouth its orginal home, with 100% wild-picked Dartmoor Sloes, Dartmoor water and full strength premium gin. At 28% ABV Hawker’s is stronger than all leading competitor brands, but this is a sloe gin with a real richness and luxuriant flavour. Hawker’s is the only brand to hold a Royal Warrant for Sloe Gin.
