Notes - Johannes Leitz is the latest member of the Leitz family to take charge of this prestigious Rheingau estate. The family own a number of vineyards in Rudesheimer. This Auslese, bottled at 8%, is from the Berg Rottland vineyard. The soil here is a typical slate-y soil characteristic of the region. This wine has an exotic nose but with massive mineral and stone aromas, almost like grannite. There are also notes of apples and peaches. It is a big powerful and masculine Riesling. Will age gracefully for many years to come.
