Quinta Do Carmo

Notes - Quinta do Carmo is wholly owned by DBR-Lafite and is managed by the company in collaboration with José Berardo. The Quinta now has 150 hectares of vines that are gradually reaching maturity and the efforts to improve quality are paying dividends. Recent vintages have produced unique wines that are a blend of terroir and wine-making skill. Quinta do Carmo is distinguished firstly by its soil. It is a sunny wine whose maturity and aromas are typical of its traditional grapes, combined masterfully with additional grapes. The addition of DBR know-how allows this wine to reach new levels of complexity and elegance. Grape varietals - Aragonez 40% to 60%, Alicante, Periquita, Trincadeira 15 to 30%, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah 20 to 40% (since vintage 2000). 12 months in oak barrels, including 35% in new barrels.
