Domaine Cheysson is run by Jean-Pierre Large. The vines at Domaine Cheysson are situated on steep slopes, on granitic soil. Chiroubles has vineyards at some of the highest altitudes among the Cru Beaujolais. Chiroubles cru are noted for their delicate perfume that often includes aromas of violets and are lighter and more fragrant the wines of Morgon or Julienas. Domaine Cheysson Chiroubles is best drunk relatively young, opening up before the other Crus, at two to three years from harvest. This soft, attractive Beaujolais is often described as "feminine" in character and can be drunk chilled.
