Notes - Taylors Pass is a narrow winding mountain track linking the Wairau and Awatere Valleys of Marlborough. The vineyard, located in the Awatere Valley, buffers the meandering Awatere River. A warm, stony, rugged terrain characterises this picturesque vineyard. Under careful management the vines were cropped at well balanced yields and hand picked at optimum ripeness to ensure ripe flavours and good concentration. Minimal, gentle and natural winemaking techniques were employed to preserve the delicacy and structure of this fine Pinot Noir. Winemakers comments: An enticing bouquet of red and dark fruits, it has a seductive perfume which is concentrated yet refined. The palate has layers of explosive fruit and is deep with a lovely long texture and structure. The wine is powerful yet elegant, balanced and stylish.
