Chateau Le Monastère

Wine information: Chateau Le Monastère is in the Cotes de Bourg appelation which is located on the right bank of the Dordogne at the point where it meets the Gironde river. Three-quarters of the 23 hectare vineyard area are in Mombrier, the remainder is in Lansac. The vineyards are planted to Merlot 60%, Cabernet Sauvignon 35% and Malbec 5% and production is 100,000 bottles per year. This wine is also oganically certified.

Tasting Notes: Chateau Le Monastère is a delicious, smooth, full-bodied wine with intense red fruits characteristics and a rich, opulent mouth-feel.

Food & Wine match: Ideal with red meats or perhaps a traditional Sunday roast.
