Wine information:
Mouton Cadet rouge is made from rigorously selected wines and grapes from partner winegrowers in the main
appellations of Bordeaux and the Côtes (Blaye, Bourg, Castillon, etc.). Each appellation selected by the Baron Philippe de Rothschild team has a unique terroir, giving it an exceptional range of nuances for making mouton cadet. The limestone soils of Entre-Deux-Mers and the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux produce wines of refinement, while the clay soils around Blaye give fuller-bodied wines. The gravelly soils of Côtes de Bourg and the south of Entre-Deux-Mers bring elegance and freshness to the Cabernet grapes. Mouton Cadet rouge is made from a blend of classic varieties: Merlot (65%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) and Cabernet Franc (15%). Mouton Cadet rouge is a scintillating, deep garnet red colour. The nose has expressive black fruit at first,
especially blackberry, with touches of toast and fine spice, then more complex fresh fruit aromas, especially cherry and redcurrant,
that burst from the glass. The palate is supple and round on the attack, displaying an attractive harmony between silky tannins and the freshness of the fruit on the nose. A hedonistic wine, succulent and richly flavoured, ending on a generous and pleasant, fruit-filled finish. Try with rib steak with shallots, breast of veal, duck or lamb cutlets.
