Compass Box Oak Cross Vatted Malt 43%

This Vatted Malt (blend of single malt whiskies) from Compass Box is the replacement for The Spice Tree. It is made from entirely from Highland malts aged for at least 10 years, the lead whisky in the blend is Teaninich, this is balanced with other whiskies from the villages of Brora and Carron. The Whiskies are all aged in a mixture of American oak types for the primary maturation, they are then aged in a mix of first-fill bourbon and "oak cross" barrels (casks made from American and French oak). It is soft on the palate with notes of clove and vanilla, sweet maltiness and fruity notes. It is of medium weight with a fruit long finish. Non-chill filtered and no colourings added.
