Notes - Amarula Cream is a South African cream liqueur made from the fruit of the African Marula Tree, cream and suger. Think South African Bailey's. The Marula tree (Sclerocarya birrea) is also known locally as the Elephant or Marriage tree. Marula trees cannot be cultivated and the fruit has to be picked at the height of the South African summer. Elephants are known to eat rotten andfermenting Marula fruit and get a bit tipsy!
