Tyrrell's Vat 1 Semillon

Tasting Notes - Glossy yellow colour in with a vibrant lime hue. Typical soft-bodied elegant Semillon fruit richness. Combined with bottle aged toasty/lime and honey flavours. The finish has quite soft fruit and a clean lively, acid finish. An elegant Semillon with great flavour and intensity and a long clean aftertaste.. Ideal drinking now, but will cellar well for at least another 5 to 10 years and more. Arguably the world’s finest Semillon, Vat 1 epitomises the benefits of patient bottle ageing that transforms this unaoked wine. Tyrrell’s Vat 1 was first produced in 1963 from Semillon grapes on the Short Flat vineyard across the road from our historic Pokolbin winery. Characterised by honeyed toasty flavours, Vat 1 is relaeased only after five years bottle maturation. It is considered to be a classic example of one of the most unique styles in the world.
