Notes - Domaines Paul Mas offers a "New World" approach to winemaking from 2 distinct winegrowing regions within the Languedoc-Roussillon: Pezenas, north-east of Beziers and Limoux, next to Carcasonne. La Forge wines are made by Domaines Paul Mas from grapes grown at the La Forge vineyards in the Languedoc. This Vineyard has a very good reputation thanks to its unique soils and climate. It is located near the famous city of Carcassonne in Languedoc on the hills overlooking the Aude Valley. Marsanne on the coolest part of the estate vineyard located south of Carcassonne in order to get the best possible acidity balance. The La Forge Marsanne is produced from grapes grown in the AC Limoux geographical limits. La Forge Marsanne is bright gold in colour with straw yellow tints. The nose is very elegant with blossom, honeydew, hazelnut and quince aroma and a hint of toasted bread. The palate is rich and mellow with a good acidic balance and a long finish with honeydew notes. As it ages this wine will develop more tropical fruit flavours which in turn will develop into more honeyed aromas. Try with seafood or white fish dishes, white meats and soft, fresh cheeses or even tarts and fruit desserts.
