Notes - Bodegas Campos Reales is situated in the heart of La Mancha in El Provencio, the province of Cuenca on the border with Toledo. The company was established in 1988 after the merging of two cooperatives in the same town. It was in 1996 that they built a new plant, installing innovative machinery with state of the art technology, thus forming one of the most modern European bodegas, in a move towards producing quality wines of good, consistent value. The climate is moderate Mediterranean with hot summers and cold winters. Rainfall is scarce with annual amounts averaging no more than 500 mm mainly in the spring and autumn. These extremes of cold in winter and heat in summer are climatic conditions that are ideal for producing excellent quality grapes. 100% Tempranillo aged 3 months in barrels. Vivid, deep cherry colour, garnet-edged. Full and complex nose of ripe fruit, thyme, rosemary and balsamic lactic notes. Mouth-filling, fresh, well-integrated berry fruit backed with a touch of new oak that makes for elegance. Soft, supple, rich and very velvety with a persistent lingering finish. Good with white meat, vegetable pie, game, veal and cheeses.
