Wine information:
In 1982, Bernard Leroux produced the first vintage of the wine which was to be the Domaines of Langlois-Chateau red and white. Since then, and as a result of the success that it has had, Langlois-Chateau has incresed its vineyard holding in the Saumur area and consistantly increased the quality of the wines. This wine is produced with fruit from the Bron and St Florent vineyards (a total of 20 hectares). Following the harvest, the grapes were totally destemmed and then maceration took place for 15 days. Fermentation was undertaken in tanks at controlled a temperature.A leafy fresh example of Cabernet Franc with vibrant raspberry sorbet fruit flavours and a pleasant herby undercurrent. Serve with grilled meat, poultry and soft cheese. “Even if the standards had been high in this section, this silky Langlois-Chateau red would have stood out. As it was, it was several heads and shoulders above the opposition. Great supple fruit, with fresh acidity and a beguiling herbal character, it would match a wide variety of dishes - Pecking Duck, lamb, to name but a few. One of the top wines of the tasting. As at home in a gastropub as a three-starred Michelin. Exceptional”. Gold List, Sommelier Wine Awards,
