Notes - The fruit for this wine comes from Casa Lapostolle's Apalta vineyard in the Rapel Valley, the same vineyard as Clos Apalta. It is actually a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Merlot and is aged in French oak Bordeaux barrels for 10 months, 32 % new and one year old barrels and 68% second year used. "Very intense red ruby color. Intense and complex bouquet of red and blackberries, cassis, plums, mixed with spicy and oaky notes. The wood is discret and well integrated, respecting the purity of the fruit. In mouth, this full bodied wine combines elegance and strength, nice mineral and cedar notes mixed in, with fine tannins on the finish. This wine can be enjoyed now or cellared several years." - Michel Friou, Casa Lapostolle's winemaker.
