Tasting Notes: Wild Rock Vin Gris Rosé has a bright, crimson, blush colour flecked with pinks. The nose is aromatically lifted with red cherry, cranberry, and a hint of yeast derived cream character. The palate is fresh with bracing acidity yet tempered by a sweet fruit core and a cleansing finish. Try with antipasti.
Reviews:
“This dark rose-pink wine from Hawkes Bay in New Zealand is a blend of merlot, malbec, pinot noir and syrah. The nose offers notes of strawberry, spice, hay and lime. The layered flavor has touches of pear and lemon and an acidity so lively the wine almost sparkles in the mouth. Serve with sea scallops, tuna noodle casserole and grilled whitefish.” Bill Daley – Chicago Tribune – August 2010, 87 Points, 4 Stars
“A lovely refreshing style displaying gentle aromas of raspberry, strawberry and spring flower. It's nicely fruited on the palate with a whisper of sweetness (6 g/l) which is beautifully balanced by the crisp acidity. The wine flows well and is immediately appealing on the palate.” Sam Kim – www.wineorbit.co.nz – March 2010
