Steininger Gruner Veltliner "Loisium" Loisiumweingarten Steven Holl

Notes - Weingut Steininger is an estate owned and run by the Steininger family - Karl, Brigitta and their three daughters Eva, Lisa and Anna. They own 30ha of vineyards in Langenlois, which is Austria's wine capital, about 70km north-west of Vienna and 10km from Krems, north of the Danube. Kamptal (in Lower Austria) is one of Austria's largest wine-growing areas. This is real Grüner Veltliner country. 100% Grüner Veltliner, grapes from a single vineyard surrounding the Loisium. The whole bunches were pressed and the juice underwent a controlled temperature fermentation and maturation in stainless steel vats. The Loisium is a unique celebration of wine, designed by the American architect Steve Holl, situated in the Steininger estate. He also designed the label for this wine. Pale green-gold colour. Inviting fruit on the nose, with exotic notes and fine ripe aroma of apples. Complex, dry, full, balanced, with a long beautiful echo. Fits many different dishes: ideally light meat, salads and vegetable preparations.
