Wine information:
The "two quintas" in question are Quinta de Ervamoira and Quinta dos Bons Ares. Quinta de Ervamoira is located in the heart of the Douro, in schist soil and at low altitude and the climate is hot and dry which allows the grapes to fully mature. At Quinta dos Bons Ares, which has a granite soil and is at a higher altitude, the grapes mature in fresher, windy conditions which lends them freshness and vivacity. The Branco is a blend of 55% Viosinho, 30% Rabigato and 15% Arinto. Brilliant and clear colour with a greenish-yellow tone. Intense, clean and creamy, ripe fruit dominates (apricot and peach) with the mineral notes characteristic of the Rabigato and the freshness provided by the Arinto, resulting in a complex aroma. A fresh and aromatic attack on the palate. The wine then becomes oily and structured, full with a taste of ripe fruit. A delicious and long-lasting finish. Ideal for accompanying shellfish and fish. It is also recommended as an aperitif, with vegetable and salad starters and rice or pasta-based dishes.
