Notes - "Tournon Estate" is Chapoutier's 50 hectare domain in South Australia State cultivated using organic methods. The climate, relatively cool for Australia, is characterized by exceptional sunshine during the day and particularly cool nights in summer.
The situation of proximity to the Great South Ocean regulates temperature in this region. The mild and dry weather towards the end of the summer and in autumn allows Chapoutier to obtain very good ripeness and high acidity levels which will favour long ageing. 97% Syrah and 3% Marsanne. 50% of the wine is aged for 10-12 months in French oak barrels. The rest matured in tanks in order to encourage the fruit aromas.Intense red colour. The nose is complex with black fruit aromas (blackcurrant and blueberries) and some peppery, smoky notes. The palate has a very round structure and is slightly woody and very soft. Discrete round tannins with
fruit aromas showing through.
