Notes - Giant Steps is owned and operated by a small team - Phil, Allison and Harry Sexton. Phil had originally established Devil's Lair vineyard in Margaret River in the 1980s. In 1997 Phil and his wife, Alison, took the "Giant Step" of selling up and moving to the Yarra Valley where they dreamed of creating a small, specialised cool climate vineyard together, as a family - thus Giant Steps Winery was created (named after the 1959 John Coltrane album of the same name on Atlantic records). Tasting Notes - "This single-vineyard wine from the Yarra Valley is made by Phil Sexton, who established the Devil's Lair vineyard in Margaret River before moving to Victoria. Aromas of nectarine and peach, backed with citrus, are complemented by a complex, creamy palate." Sunday Life Magazine, 12th November 2006, Sally Gudgeon & Ralph Kyte-Powell.
