Wine information:
The commune of Savigny-les-Beaune is located higher up between Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses, in the north of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyard of "les Guettes" is located south, south-east, and is situated between 220 and 360m. The chalk soil is gravely and stony. "Les Guettes" lies in the middle of the commune, near the village of Savigny. This wine is aged in oak barrels for an average of 12-15 months before being bottled. "Les Guettes" shows aromas of white fruits such as apples, white flowers and some spices. It is well balanced between acidity and fruit. Fresh and elegant on the finish. Great value. This wine will age for 5-8 years in good cellaring conditions, but is best enjoyed young and fresh. This could be a Chassagne such is the richness, weight and complexity. This wine will be perfect with fine white meat dishes, terrines and light cheese.
