Torres Celeste Crianza

Wine information: The Torres family has been making wine in the ancient Catalán town of Vilafranca del Penedès, south-west of Barcelona, since the 17th Century. It is this tradition combined with innovation, dynamism and commitment to quality that has put Torres firmly on the world map. In 2006 Torres were awarded European Winery of the Year in Wine Enthusiast's Annual Wine Star Awards. Celeste is an opulent wine brimming with fruit, body and colour from vineyards at an altitude of 895m. This is Torres' first foray into Ribera del Duero. 100% Tempranillo aged in French, American and European Bordeaux style for 12 months. Capacity: 300 and 225 litres.

Tasting Notes: Intense blackberry colour. Spicy and intense nose, with liquorice and black pepper hints on a base of well ripened fruits (blackberry and cherry). On the palate, very fruity at first with ripened tannins, also persistent and full bodied.

Food & Wine match: Serve between 16-17 ºC. Owing to its fruity and tannic characteristics, this wine pairs well with a great variety of meat dishes including roasts and small game.
