Roda Reserva

Wine information: Bodegas Roda are at the cutting edge of wine-making in Rioja. Mario Rotllant and his wife, Carmen Daurella, undertook an exhaustive analysis of many of the best vineyard sites in La Rioja Alta and picked 17 of the very best of these, with vines between 30 and 90 years old, and purchased signed long term contracts with the growers at these sites. Cirsion is the top wine from Roda and specially trained pickers are sent out round the vineyard to selectively pick only the best Tempranillo grapes. Roda practises sustainable viticulture and uses a minimum of chemicals or fertilisers. All their wines are aged 100% in French Oak. Roda Reserva is a blend of 85% Tempranillo, 4% Garnacha and 11% Graciano.The wine shows aromas of crushed red cherries and savory herbs, and ripe, spicy and structured fruit on the palate, with soft tannins and a long finish.
