Tasting Notes: Louis Jadot Puligny Montrachet 1er cru Les Referts has a pale gold colour. The soils give to this wine a very fine structure and mineral character, with fruit, honey and herbaceous aromas. On the palate, the acidity is perfectly balanced and the wine has a good length.
Food & Wine match: This great wine will perfectly match the finest cooking: shellfish, poached fish, strong cheeses like Munster and ripe Comté. In good cellaring conditions, this wine can be kept 8 to 12 years.
Reviews:
"Lovely nutty character here, charismatic and lively. Real interest, lots of individuality. Shows the uniqueness of Burgundy, plus a generous citrus fruit too." (RH) 17.5 Points, Jancis Robinson
"There is just a faint touch of white peach on the nose of this Puligny Referts, but with a few more swirls that trademark “crushed stone” scent begins to emerge. The palate is well balanced with good weight: vibrant green fruit, just a hint of dried honey, expanding nicely to an apricot-tinged finish. Very fine." 91 Points, Robert Parket. Tasted January 2011.
