Wine information:
Sara and António Ribeiro have at Mouraz established a small beacon of sustainability in the region. With passion and commitment they’ve converted all Antonio’s family 13 Ha vineyards to the biodynamic way over the past 8 years, their enthusiasm and energy now spreading to other growers in their area. This is the “gentle touch” approach to viticulture and winemaking. Casa de Mouraz Branco is a blend of Malvasia Fina, Bical and Cerceal. The Branco reveals what intensity can be coaxed out of the “common” Malvasia Fina, matched with the complexity of Bical and the energetic balance of Cerceal / Sercial. Casa de Mouraz is a member of the wine groupe Renaissance des Appellations / Return to Terroir and enjoys technical support by Vini Vitis Bio (France), Agridin / João Castella and Vines & Wines (Portugal) and is biodynamically farmed.
Tasting Notes:
Casa de Mouraz Branco is completely unoaked. There is a little oily development on the nose and subtle floral notes. The palate is quite steely and offered stone-fruit intensity to contrast with layers of nuttiness, light stone fruits and mineral notes. Well defined, long finish.
